CONGRATULATIONS to 3A for winning the Rad Raptor Weekly Contest!! They cleverly captioned the following picture with this slogan: Spreading kindness can take you to a higher place in life.
We had over 300 names entered into our Random Acts of Kindness Contest this week! That made for over 600 acts of Kindness that were "caught" by our Secret Kindness Agents over the last two weeks. CONGRATULATIONS to this week's winners! A huge thank you to the Town of Devon who provided the Shift Happens gift cards, which was our prize for the Winter Walk Day Challenge.
This week we are featuring all three of our grade one classes and the amazing activities they participated in to celebrate 100 days of school! Some of our parents and staff got really creative and made some amazing 100th day of School t-shirts as well. The spirit was contagious and so much learning and laughter around the number 100 could be seen and heard in each class all day long!
Our Pre-K students had so much fun hatching their dinos this week! So much exploration, discovery, and glee!
All of our classes had tremendous participation in Pink Shirt Day. Teachers planned Kindness activities and there were many stories, lessons, and activities around RBES focused on how to choose to be Kind and many of our students wore PINK to acknowledge the fact that we all need to do our part to ensure we are in a KIND and CARING environment every single day. So proud of you all! Click here for more fabulous photos!
This week we were able to attend Black Gold School Division’s Council of School Communities: Virtual Stakeholder Engagement. This is an annual event where School Councils, among others, are invited to voice opinions about various topics affecting BGSD. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Black Gold School Division and we spent time talking about the divisions reputation, what BGSD is known for and what the division needs to do to inspire success for the next 10 years. We discussed what some of these opportunities may look like and what BGSD can push themselves to do in order to get there. We were able to contribute our views and ideas and we also learnt a lot throughout the session as there were representatives from several divisional School Councils (including student reps from high schools), teaching and administrative staff, the BGSD Board of Trustees and politicians including Mike Lake, Mark Smith and Gerald Seroka. We are very fortunate to have such dedicated individuals working throughout and within our school communities. We look forward to seeing the compiled results of this engagement session and to sharing them with you!
Enjoy some pizza and support our school at the same time! You can see a couple of ways to do that below. THANK YOU!!
Don't forget to send in your Boston Pizza receipts as we still earn a portion back to our school. Thanks in advance for your support!
