NOVEMBER 29, 2020

Please see our agenda for this week's assembly below. It was nice to hear our school song again, even if it was just a video from last year! Our contest this week created a bit of excitement. Make sure you ask your child what their class responded for the "Caption It" contest.

Nov 27 2020 Assembly

This past week we had a new announcement from the Alberta Government with some new restrictions for schools. If you missed that announcement, you can click HERE to view it. Black Gold emailed all parents the following document with our "At-Home Learning" guidelines for the coming weeks. The focus this past week was on Junior High and High Schools getting things sorted out. This coming week, Black Gold will focus on more details for the elementary schools. Watch for more information in the next week.

In order to prepare and plan for the at-home learning portion after the Christmas break, we ask that all parents complete the technology survey below. For PK and Kinder families, we still ask that you complete the survey as information will be sent to you to share with your children via email or Google Site. There will be print packages coming home for all levels of students, but in order to take some of the load off of parents or caregivers having to teach the content in the print packages, we are hoping to supplement with some digital teacher directed time and/or digital information. Please fill out the survey by Wednesday, December 2. Thank you! If clicking on the survey itself does not work , you can also click on this LINK!

We kindly request that all parents/visitors on RBES school grounds wear a mask. It is mandatory for our staff and older students, so we ask that you do so as well. This past week we had several groups of parents congregating and visiting outside while waiting to pick up their children and very few were wearing masks or practicing social distancing. This is not safe in our current environment and we ask that you help us model safe protocols for all of our students. Let's all be safe together!

Next virtual meeting is: Monday, December 7th

We will start with School Council Meeting and the Fundraising Committee will follow. All parents including our DL (distance learning) families are encouraged to join us!

There are lots of events/items coming soon to RBES and we wanted you to have an idea of what to expect in the next couple of months. You can subscribe to our RBES Calendar to have live updates on your phone through the gmail app or you can find our calendar on this blog under the Calendar tab or on the RBES website at this link: rbes.blackgold.ca/calendar/rbes-calendar/

Supporting the Devon Christmas Elves

Every year, the families of Robina Baker have been great supporters of the Devon Christmas Elves! Due to the pandemic, the Christmas Elves Association have asked that we continue to support them, but in a different way. Instead of having a food and toy drive, Devon Christmas Elves will be graciously accepting financial donations in the form of cash, cheque or gift cards to IGA and Hardy’s Independent Grocery ONLY.

For more info and ways to donate, please go to the Christmas Elves Website

You can donate on-line and receive an instant tax receipt at canadahelps.org
