AT-HOME LEARNING

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Packages were sent home in December for your child to work through. These will be supplemented with instructions via email from your child's teacher. Schedules, instructions etc. will arrive from the teacher. For all RBES students (except Grade 4), your child(ren) will have an option to participate in a virtual session with their teacher. The general schedule for those times was published in the last Weekly Update before Christmas and can also be found below. Grade 4 students have a mandatory requirement for daily online interaction with their teacher as outlined in the update and in the schedule.

DAILY LEARNING SCHEDULES:

Daily schedules with tasks, activities and recommended time frames will be emailed out by the classroom teacher. Most teachers have also posted these schedules on their Google site for easy reference for parents. Daily learning will include all subjects that would have been a part of each child's daily schedule for that day of the week. Children are expected to complete a full day of school work each day.

BGSD AT-HOME LEARNING INFORMATION

Black Gold published an At-Home Learning Information document that can be found at this link: BGSD At-Home Learning and RBES will be following these guidelines for our At-Home Learning week. The document is also below for your convenience.

Students will be expected to complete all tasks assigned by the teacher and work will be assessed. Attendance is mandatory and all parents/students are required to touch base with their teacher based on their regular schedule. For most of our students that means a daily check in. To help simplify things, you can use this google form to document participation/attendance in At-Home Learning. Our office staff will still need to touch base with you if you have not checked in with your child(ren)'s teacher or completed the google form on a daily basis. We would like all attendance to be completed by 1:00 pm each afternoon. PLEASE NOTE: **If your child participates in a virtual meet, you are NOT required to do the attendance form. This is just to make things convenient for families who are unable to attend the virtual sessions.

With regards to the Virtual Sessions (both optional and mandatory ones), we will be using the same Google Meet guidelines that we did in the spring. Teachers may have a couple of adjustments depending on the grade level, but those will be explained to the students if they are affected. You can find those here at the following links or below for your convenience:

HOW DO I GET ON TO MY GOOGLE MEET?

All grade 1 - 4 students will sign on to their Google Meet by using the Google Meet App (the waffle or grid) that they were all taught to use in school in December to get on to their meets at their scheduled time. Their code is their class identifier. Eg. 1A, 4B etc. All students have practiced this and have book marks or things set to access their meet.

Pre-K and Kinder familier: Ms. Garlough and Mrs. Porter have emailed separate instructions for these two groups.
