The school is committed to providing a safe and drug-free environment for its students. Should physical evidence or credible reporting lead to the serious suspicion that a student is in possession of drugs, stolen property, or items threatening to themselves or the community, the school shall have the right to search the lockers, belongings and outer garments of said student in accordance with Regulation 8.61R Drug Abuse: Prevention and Assistance and with the procedures in Regulation 8.62R, and to put in safe-keeping any relevant objects found. Searches should always be conducted with an adult witness, and students may ask for an additional witness to be present during an interview. Parents shall be informed if their child has been subject to a search.
In case of a student's failure to cooperate with the procedures outline above, the school shall be entitled to terminate the contract between school and parents immediately for cause.
