The Honor Roll parameters are as follows:
1. Students achieve Honor Roll status based on a combination of their semester grades and satisfactory conduct.
2. The following qualifying numbers are used in compiling an initial list. These refer to the Grade Point Average calculated from the student's semester grades, with extra weighting accorded to IB Diploma Programme courses in Grades 11 and 12:
a) Grades 11 and 12: High Honors 6.75 and above; Honors 6.25 to 6.74
b) Grades 9 and 10: High Honors 6.0 and above; Honors 5.5 to 5.99
(A student's grade point average does not include the following subjects: Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra and Concert Choir. Grades for these subjects either reflect a pass/fail status or are classified as a non-compulsory course and are therefore not used in the computation.)
3. A student cannot qualify for the Honor Roll who has one or more of the following, referring to all courses taken, both GPA and non-GPA subjects:
a) one or more grades below 5 for High Honors, or one or more grades below 4 for Honors
b) a Fail in a Pass/Fail course
4. A student qualifying through the grades noted above will only be placed on the final Honor Roll if his or her conduct is satisfactory, as determined by the Upper School Principal in consultation with Upper School faculty. Significant reasons debarring students from the Honor Roll may include plagiarism, a reprimand on file, unexcused absences or repeated lateness to class, failure to hand work in on time, and incomplete CAS activities.
