The school endeavors to place admitted students into the appropriate grade level, which is defined as the grade level where the student will be most successful socially and academically. Placement is recommended by the Director of Admissions, in consultation with divisional principals, based on the student's age, evaluation of records from previously attended schools and, if required, assessments administered by Frankfurt International School. All acceptance letters note that an initial grade placement may be changed after a student's enrollment if deemed necessary by the division principal after the student has been observed in the classroom. The Head of School makes the final decision on any disputed placements following the divisional review process.
