The school calendar shall be adopted annually one-and-a-half years in advance by the Board of Trustees. Developing the school calendar is a collaborative effort between the works council (Betriebsrat) and ADCON, with resulting recommendations submitted to the Board of Trustees for approval. The school's works council is granted the right of co-determination in matters of the work place, work procedures and work environment.

The Head of School shall submit a recommended calendar to the Board in advance of the Board meeting.

The academic school year will normally begin by the end of August and finish by the end of June. School shall finish earlier for Grade 12 students. Provision shall be made for holiday periods in the fall, in the winter, and for a ski break and a spring break, and shall also include German legal holidays.
