The process for admission to FIS conforms to the regulations of government educational authorities and other national and international treaties, laws and regulations. It is then dependent on the applicant meeting the following conditions and criteria:
1. Acceptance of, and support for, the school’s mission, goals, policies, and programs.
2. The suitability of the program for the prospective student and demonstrated evidence that the applicant can achieve the requirements of the program at respective grade and division levels.
3. Evidence that the applicant is capable of making a positive contribution to the school community.
4. Conditions of placement into grades, programs, or specific courses will be set by the school, based on age, prior schooling, or other special considerations.
5. Students with special needs or in need of ELA support will be evaluated against the school’s ability to provide the required support services. Students will be considered for admission against the expectation that they can meet the standards and requirements of the general curriculum.
6. All records from the student’s previous schools and other requested documentation must be submitted before acceptance.
7. Students must be living with a parent throughout the period of enrolment unless extenuating circumstances exist as disclosed to the school administration and confirmed by the Head of School.
8. School fees must be paid as stipulated by pertinent regulations.
9. Admission is granted on an annual basis and renewed for each school year by means of a student re-enrollment form. Students who have attended the school the previous year shall be re-enrolled if their school records and behavior are satisfactory, they continue to meet the criteria for admission, and after a successful completion of the re-enrollment process. If any of these conditions are not met, the school reserves the right to deny re-enrollment provided this is in the best interest of the student or the school.
The application process is governed by specific regulations and assessments in the admissions office and the school divisions. Final responsibility for the granting or denial of admission rests with the Head of School.
