Frankfurt International School respects the privacy of its employees, students and families and is committed to protecting the personal data maintained by the school to conduct its business. The transfer of FIS employee, student and family personal data may occur across national boundaries. FIS adheres to the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz BDSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Art. 44-50 GDPR).
All necessary steps are taken to ensure the safety and security of personal data through organizational and technical measures.
An annual GDPR status report for the prior school year is generated by the GDPR team in collaboration with the Data Protection Officer, and made available to the Head of School and the Betriebsrat.
GDPR training for faculty and staff is required with regular updates provided as necessary.
If a complaint regarding the use of personal data is raised, FIS will investigate and try to resolve any dispute. Unresolved complaints will be referred to the State Data Protection Commissioner of Hesse.
