The FIS Award for Academic Excellence recognizes a student who has achieved high academic performance across multiple disciplines and has shown strong commitment and perseverance towards learning.
The recipient of this award will be determined as follows:
A long list will be generated of the top 10% of students using the unweighted GPA for Grade 11 (semester 1 and 2 and Grade 12 (semester 1 only)
Students will be shortlisted based on their consistency of attainment through Grades 9 and 10
Teachers will identify shortlisted students that have shown exceptional commitment, resilience, and/or perseverance towards learning, providing narrative evidence
The Awards Panel, composed of the US Principal, IB Diploma Coordinator, US Counselor, and representatives from the Board, PTG, and alumni, will make the final decision on the recipient using the evidence from steps 1, 2, and 3.
This award in the amount of €300, taken from the school's operating fund, shall be presented annually at the graduation ceremony.
