Title: Curriculum Development

Approved date: September 2020

For the purpose of this policy, curriculum is defined as the learning expectations for each subject area.
Curriculum is reviewed and revised on an ongoing basis in accordance with the FIS Curriculum Review Cycle.
FIS uses recognized, research-based curricula as the basis for its curriculum development, and ensures that it aligns with the requirements of the International Baccalaureate.
Responsibility for the development and implementation of the school's curriculum rests with the faculty of each division of the school, working with principals, curriculum coordinators and in coordination with the Assistant Head of School. The Curriculum Council oversees the curriculum review process.
Curriculum is documented in an agreed-upon format and published online.
