Professional development (PD) for faculty and staff is to be actively encouraged.

Unless with specific prior authorization of the Board, such professional development is not to compromise the structure of the school calendar.

Principals are granted budgetary provision each year, in accordance with decisions of the Finance Committee, to enable professional development of employees to be facilitated. The disbursement of such funds is at the sole discretion of the principals, who should make every effort to ensure that relevant professional development is provided to all faculty and staff members who wish to take up opportunities that are offered, bearing in mind both the interests of the school and those of the employee concerned.
