In the event of the death of a member of the school community, the Head of School shall be informed in order to ensure a sensitive and proper response. The Head of School shall inform others as appropriate. The school will send a card with a wreath/flowers or alternative donation. Additional arrangements may be appropriate depending upon the circumstances and the wishes of the family. Representatives from the school who wish to attend the funeral should make arrangements to do so through their principal.
Recognizing that the loss of a member of the school community is deeply felt, the Board shall consider the acceptance of memorials in honor of deceased students, employees or other members of the community on an individual basis.
A memorial for deceased students or employees on behalf of the school will be approved by the Head of School, as outlined in Regulation 9.801R, Memorials.
