Response Level III
Condition: Severe weather conditions closing most or all bus routes; dangerous driving conditions reported by police.
1. After-school activities cancelled.
2. AFN, HR3 and FFH asked to report that some bus routes are cancelled (route numbers can be given if the station is willing) and that affected students will be held at school until parents are able to arrive or call with alternate arrangements. Parents informed via SMS, email and website.
3. Students directed to go to homerooms at the end of school with coats and bags, ready for departure; teachers stay with their students
4. Extra help assigned to telephones for receiving calls and passing messages between offices
5. Upper School and Elementary School regular U-Bahn and neighborhood walkers dismissed (on advice of parents in the case of elementary students).
6. Parents will be kept informed by a variety of means (e.g. radio messages, email, FIS website, SMS)
7. Alternate plans (e.g. going home with a friend or taking the U-Bahn) intiated by parents or by students in Grades 10-12 proceed; alternate plans for students in lower grades need parent consultation and approval
8. Regular updates about conditions announced to faculty/staff
9. Situation assessed at 17:00 and decision made to activate feeding and entertainment plan for remaining students.
10. Situation assessed at 20:00 and decision made to activate overnight plan for remaining students
