While I am alive
By: John Kazerooni
While I am alive, let my spirit rise,
A soul unbound beneath open skies.
With hands that give and a heart that shares,
Embracing the world with love and care.
Each day, let peace be the thread I weave,
Loving all beings in whom I believe.
Through trials faced and lessons learned,
Purpose discovered as the fire burns.
But I am not alive if my freedom is chained,
If love is forgotten and compassion restrained.
When growth is stifled, my purpose unclear,
Life becomes shadowed, devoid of cheer.
So while I breathe, let my essence soar,
To give, to love, to learn even more.
For life’s true meaning is more than to live—
It’s to seek, to grow, and find purpose to live.
