Silent Storm
By: John Kazerooni
In 2025, lies abound,
Leaders deceive, truth unfound.
People numb, standards fall,
Pain engulfs, I feel it all.
I wish to write, to find release,
But words elude, there’s no peace.
I want to scream, to break the night,
Yet silence holds, suppresses fight.
I long to run, escape this place,
But body’s weak, can’t keep the pace.
I crave to strike, to feel the pain,
But know such acts are all in vain.
Trapped inside, a box unseen,
Bound by walls where I’ve been.
Hands are tied, conscience fights,
Refusing still to dim its lights.
Though confined, I won’t resign,
Within this cage, my spirit shines.
Silent storm, I’ll endure,
Holding fast to what’s pure.
