Artist statement:

The whole meaning behind tidal shift is to show the impact on climate change has on our natural marine eco systems. I took this and thought about ocean waste. Over the summer I did a lot of ocean pick up north and in asia, a lot of the waste we found was from the fishing industries.

I wanted to show this by painting marine life on actual ocean trash. the octopus is one of my favorite sea creatures, but is also one of the most intelligent. so this is why i chose to put in on the bouy i wanted to show the octopus surrounding the canvas to show how a real octopus maybe would act.
