POST CRITIQUE REFLECTION:

For most analyzing and critiquing one's own work is difficult, it goes against human nature to criticize one's own, whether that be architecture, painting, sculpting, and other day to day op operations of humans. But being able to realize and connect what worked and didn't work, is an incredibly valuable skill and will help one self edit in the future. When it comes to my work I'm very self-aware of my mistakes and criticize myself often, but this is when my best work is created and achieved. I think throughout this past semester I made some really nice sustained investigation pieces but there are also some that we're not as strong. I want to show more technique, more advanced skill this next semester and take more time on my work than what I normally do. I also want to derive from the typical front profile view of my sustained investigations, and bring different views and aspects for the viewer.

When reading everyone's feedback on my work I saw a lot of recurring themes. To experience different materials, start to have more original designs when it comes to each piece and to add some texture in most of my art. I think this is really helpful advice and has led to me understanding what I need to work on. I personally love critique work except for when it comes to two more STEM related projects, but when it comes to art it's important to have other people's responses; not only because they are your classmates but they are also viewers of your artwork .
