materials: paper, indigo ink, black pen, white pen
measurements: 5'' by 8''
artist statement: When we started by looking at all the different papers with there unique and individual blots of ink, I couldn't really find one that called to me. I was trying to think of idea that I could use to pick out a paper. But then I saw the original splatter piece of ink it reminded me of a lionfish.
I didn't want it to be a typical lionfish I wanted to have character and i wanted to use the shape of the splatter to my aditage. so I used white pen define the black area to have some contrast and used typical nature color that one could find on a lion fish splatter around it.
I think the originality of the piece could be a bit better I quite similar to other works I've done in the past, but it comes back to tieing in a oceanic piece into the art world.
