artist statement: 

when making this piece I wanted to focus on the colors and how i could blend them in a creative way. I linked the colors of the butterflies to the background. I wanted to create my own butterflies as well as using a real life one as well.

this year I want to focus more on illustration and design, so this means I wanted to focus on less real life details and more on the form itself. I added line work to the background to add variation, and pattern.
