artist statement: 

For most of my sustained investigation I have been focusing on substances, and I wanted to show the different types of addiction there is out there. one that isnt talk about a lot I've noticed is our addiction to our phones. This doesn't just affect youngers e,ber s either I see phone addiction throughout all walks of life. 

I wanted to show the different point of perspective for the piece, I wanted to viewer to be in the eyes of the person holding the phone. I illustrated  the void or "hole" to represent how people are sucked into their phone. 

I used marker to add a more illustrated or comic like appearance to the piece, also to add contrast.
