artist statement:

when figuring out idea generation for this piece I was little stuck. you aren't supposed to use gory or gruesome parts of the body for the design which cut a lot of my ideas out. so sinted I wanted to use some anatomy and also incorporate someone beautiful. 

you have to incorporate the phrase organ and tissue donation, so someone up with a phrase that could tie into the piece was the hardest part. I evertunally landed on the idea of a cherry tree morphing into a heart. I used watercolor first to add the background and the color of the tree, I use this for shading and larger details. I went int with I fine point sharpie pen and added a outline and little details throughout the piece.
