ve a focus of what I wanted my art to be.  I didn't know what I wanted my art to represent, marine life or emotions and connections. I seem to step out of my comfort zone this year exploring new materials and new techniques and styles. I've grown confident in my illustrations as well as my ability to come up with new ideas. I struggled really hard in the past to find motivation to continue drawing and painting but that was not the case this year. At some points I did fall behind but I also saw real Improvement in my motivation.

This year I wanted to focus on my use of colors and how I put movement onto the canvas or contrast highlights texture. but I also wanted to focus on the meaning behind my artwork, in the past my artwork has simply been just getting the assignment done and not thinking about what I wanted to put in behind the actual piece and into what the piece means.  What would it look like to a viewer? How could a viewer interpret my artwork, I wanted to focus on the outside perspective more, than my own. I did this by putting meaning in a second meeting behind almost each of my pieces so that they could be interpreted differently by each person. I mostly did this when exploring my sustained investigation work, which was how I could show human emotion through colors and the human body. Each piece that was a part of the sustained investigation I had thought of there was a meaning behind each piece. It wasn't simply a piece with just a title, I did this by showing emotion through my artwork with harsh lines, words, facial expression. This class is really helped me grow into the artist that I am today and it has helped me wanting to continue to explore my art.
