paper sculpture

the twisted flower

When making this piece I pondered many different ideas but I always wanted to somehow incorporate flowers. the idea that came to me was an eye was my first idea, originally I wanted to make a realistic eye with colorful little balls of paper to color the iris. I decided that I wanted to add flowers to almost represent someone who has cataracts and the pupils half started to dissipate.

I used colored and white cardstock I used superglue to hold it all together. when making this piece I was trying to have diversity and an interactive piece. while working I did dace some trouble of getting them to stick together. but eventually, they did.
