artist statement:

When creating peace I went back and forth and what I wanted to make, I didn't know if I wanted to make an animal, a person, or even a pattern. I know when creating this place I didn't want something to be set in a background, I wanted it to be flowy, and kind of just appear out of nowhere.

I went to the process of Designing some silly characters in my Sketchbook with Sharpie and then putting a plastic film over that and tracing. I wanted to create these characters not to be realistic but just be something that you might see in the stars or as a constellation. I wanted it to be something interesting and intriguing.

Overall it came out similar to what I imagined, I wish the white and some of the patterns that I drew on the clear plastic showed up more on the finished product. I guess it's a lesson for the next time I use this medium.
