Color Design (84 Colors)

The subject of my creation is a piece of pizza on a plate. The setting is a a colorful table with a colorful painting as the backdrop. To make this project, I used acrylic paint. It was made by mixing, first, 3 shades and 3 tints for each color, and layering the paint over the designated spaces of a template I had drawn on the canvas ahead of time. I chose to create this specific artwork because I thought it would be a cool way to show all of the different colors. The principles and elements of art I used were shapes and emphasis/contrast. This is seen it the way the colors are set up all over the painting.

The composition rule I used was leading lines. This is shown with the lines on the table that lead the eyes to look at the pizza. It is also shown on the painting in the background because the lines force the eyes to see the different colors and shapes. My project evolved because I kept changing by ideas for what colors I wanted to paint in certain places.

The story behind the artwork is the idea. I got the idea because at the time I was a little hungry, and, evidently, I wanted pizza. I already had the idea to do a painting in a painting, but I knew that some of the colors would be left. Then I thought, "wouldn't it be interesting if I did the pepperoni on the pizza different colors, and incorporated that into the project?" I also then thought of doing a table with the colors, too. This relates to my life because I am a major pizza lover.
