The subject of my creation was copying a puzzle piece. I drew an enlarged version of the small puzzle piece. I did this by outlining the shapes of the darker parts of the image but making them larger to fit the whole larger space. Then I colored the dark parts in with an HB pencil. I composed this by matching the shapes in the space of the small puzzle piece to where it would land in the larger space.
I did not really use any composition rules or techniques in this art, but I did use an element of art: texture. This is shown in how the shapes are arranged. I could have curved the lines, but I kept them rough and pixelated. My project evolved because I kept erasing and rearranging the shapes to make it look the same as the puzzle piece.
The story behind this artwork is that each one of us in the class had to draw an enlarged puzzle piece, and all the pieces would come together to form a picture. The picture was a falcon. It didn't really look like one though. Thi related to my life because the falcon is the the mascot of my school. Although, I with I could have made the colored in parts on the piece a lot darker. It would have looked better.
