I created a zentangle to show different value shades from dark to light. I did this by adding darker color and filling in a lot of space, leaving less white area on the dark end, and added lighter color and left more white space on the light end. In the middle I tried to blend them both together and incorporate some shading. I used different materials such as 4B pencils for the dark end and 2H pencils for the light end. I used an HB pencil for the center area. I thought of different patterns that would work for each shade.
The compositions that are showcased in this artwork is shading and pattern design. This is shown by how the piece goes from dark to light, and the patterns that were used to show this. My project evolve because I kept adding darker color to the end and shading in the center to even in out.
The story behind this piece is that were told to make value strips out of zentangles and I really enjoyed doing it, even though mine didn't turn out as great as I wanted. This relates to my life because I always try to do my best, even though the oucome won't always be the best, just like with this piece.
