Artist Statement:

For this project, we had to draw our hands and face without looking at the paper, and then add to it to complete the work afterwards. I really like this type of activity because I like working with abstract and you can really just go anywhere with it. I feel like there is no constraint. For this projects, I used a lot of my favorite colors and I added something I love: flowers. I did this because I wanted it to be sort of dream-like and something that would emulate one on my dreams.

For this piece I used Stampin' Write markers, some watercolor droplets, and mixed media paper.

I started this project out by using a black marker to draw blindly my face and two hand positions, then I added some flowers because I knew I wanted to do a sort of floral pattern. After the flowers, I chose colors to add to different sections of the face and hands. At the end I splattered pink watercolor to the paper. My project evolved because I was originally only going to color green flowers, but I decided to add scarlett flowers which really made it look a lot better in my opinion.
