Reflection Paper Sculpture

Dysfunctional

Size:

The story behind this work is that we had to come up with a word that describes our life the last few months since starting school to the new semester. Then we had to make a sculpture representing that word with one piece of paper. The word I thought of was dysfunctional, and so the project is titled that. This project relates to my life because it is literally representing my life for several months. The overall feeling of it, more like.

The materials I used were paper, a glue stick, scissors, and a little bit of tape.

I started out by folding the paper into tiled squares, then I cut out the 'cube template' and included tabs to glue with. Glueing it was hard because I had to fold the shape while glueing the tab. That was where the tape came in. Then I made a lot of cuts on the box of varying types and sizes. I tried to make a lot of them look jagged and shredded. My project evolved because I added large peek-holes on the side so one could look into the box. One thing I would add to this project would be more shred cuts to make it look more interesting and complicated.
