Tentacles

The criteria for this project was to create a peice that showcased circles. The materials were free choice. This project relates to my life because I wanted this project to be something to do with an animal, and I thought about my favorite animal; the octopus. I realized that I could make the circles for the project the octopi suckekrs, since they are round. I chose this color combo because I really like green and gray, and black goes with everything.

The materials I used to create this piece were acrylic paints, canvas paper, various sizes of flat-head brushes, painter's tape, and a ruler.

I first painted and layered the green tentacle color, then I added the white suckers, and then the grey background. I experimented with this process by adding the black lines in the background to give off more aesthetic appeal, and then I added the curved grey lines on the suckers to show some sort of depth. My project evolved because I kept adding layers of paint so the canvas was fully covered. My next steps could be to add more shadowing to the tetacles to show that they are rounded, and to add a bit more pattern to the background.
