Most of the recipes on this site come from a collection recorded by my mother, Joanne, before she passed away in 2004. She grew up in a small mountain town in Pennsylvania called Trout Run, and after meeting and marrying my father, John, lived in cities all over the country - Cleveland, Seattle, Jacksonville, St.Paul, and San Diego to name a few. Eventually our family settled in the Dallas, Texas area where we lived for over three decades.
Mom loved to cook and get the family together for dinner, where we all enjoyed lively conversation and caught up with the daily events in each other's lives. The first link is her introduction to the collection, which she typed up and and bound in a 3-ring binder to give her children when we left her loving home:
