1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 cups corn meal
2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup tomato juice
4 med. cloves garlic, pressed
Mix beef and pork together. Add all other ingredients. Mix well with hands and form into small balls the size of large marbles. Place in sauce (recipe follows) and simmer about 2 hrs. Keep hot in chafing dish. Serve on tooth picks.
Sauce
2 large cans tomatoes
2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. chili powder
Mash tomatoes (or puree coarsely in food processor). Simmer all ingredients 2 hrs.
