Chichester Harbour
A very busy sailing harbour but also beautiful and of great wildlife importance, Chichester Harbour has some beautiful, somewhat hidden, walks. Here are some of them.
Chidham (short route)
This 3.5km walk starts and finishes at the the layby at the entrance to Harbour Way or in the Chidham Amenity car park . It follows the shoreline with stunning views of Bosham, before cutting inland to give a gentle walk through the village.

Chidham (full route)
This is the 5 mile complete circuit of the Chidham peninsula. It is important to be aware of the tides as the south western corner of the route floods at spring high tides.
This walk is flat with a stretch along the stony foreshore. Paths are well marked. The route begins with a stretch across flat, Norfolk like fields to reach the western shore. It cuts a little inland (although we continued on the uneven shore at low tide) along a straight dyke.
There is a bird hide at the tip with views out over the harbour.
The eastern shore follows the sea defence wall back to the village with fantastic views over the channel to Bosham.
