Lockerley - Spearywell
This 5 mile walk starts and finishes at Lockerley Primary School. It has pasture, woodland and streams on route. There are quite a few stiles, most with "dog gates".
1.
Park opposite Lockerley Primary School (grid reference SU 301 262, w3w.co/decimal.evaporate.bluff ) and walk towards the garage. Cross the main road and take the footpath.

Go through the kissing gate into the field and take the footpath veering diagonally to the right across the field towards the distant houses. Take the stile into the small field and continue to the far corner. The path then follows a gap between two house onto the green.

At the green, turn right and follow the road to the corner and over the railway. At the road junction, turn left and follow the pavement until a turning on the right called Holbury Lane. Take this road/lane.

Just after you cross the river, take the footpath on the left through the fields.

Follow the footpath signs until you reach Holbury Farm. Here the path turns right onto the driveway of the house and then sharp right out of the gates and through the woods.

When you reach the houses at the end of the private road, turn left to follow the footpath into more woods.
Continue until the path goes through a gate to a crossroads and turn right down a straight bridle path taking you back to the Tytherley Road and the Star Inn.

Go through the Star Inn car park and pick up the footpath just to the right of the buildings. Go across the cricket pitch and out through the "kissing gate" on the other side.
Head towards the edge of the woods and follow the boundary along to the right to pick up the path again.

The path opens out to a give a view of Lockerley Hall on the left, before re-entering woods. Take care to not disturb the lambs here in the spring.

After the woods, the paths cross a number of fields. In the second field, head to the left of the clumps of trees where you will find a stile in the far left hand corner. Follow the way markers into Spearywell Woods, up the hill.

At the top of the hill the path splits and there is a sharp turn to the right with a stone Mottisfont Estate Walk marker. Follow these markers through the woods and out, until you reach the River Dun.
11.
Take the footbridge over the river and turn right onto the road. Walk back to the the start point.
