North Downs Way
Box Hill to Guildford

Walk 22.77km from Box Hill to Guildford. Park in the National Trust car park at Box Hill. There is a café and toilets here.
Head to the view point and set out in a westerly direction. Follow the North Downs Way markers until you reach the car park on the outskirts of Guildford.
This a a fairly gentle route without any great climbs. Mainly through woodland there are gaps in the trees with stunning views of the Weald. You follow the chalk ridge then dip down into the sandy Weald and climb Saint Martha's Hill with its hill top church. It's then fairly flat to the finish.

Parking at the end of this stretch uses the National Trust Car Park at Box Hill. We were dropped off at the start, but there is parking in a layby on the A22 with a linking path marked on the map to the bridge over the road -thsi was not tested on foot.
The route includes many stunning views out over the Weald. As it follows the M25, only the final few kilometres are free of traffic noise.
