Robin Hood's Bay

This 7.7 mile walk takes in the delights of the Robin Hood's Bay beach and town, as well as the undulating farmland away from the coast. Part of the route is along the picturesque Cinder Trail which follows the gentle route of the old railway from Scarborough to Whitby, so called as some of the ballast under the rails was cinders rather than stone. It also gives the option to shorten the route by continuing along the track instead of looping around the hills by the number 3 on the map above.

Start at the car park for Boggle Hole, heading down to the coast path via the Youth Hostel. Alternative start points are in the Robin Hood's Bay town car park or the little private car park (£1 donation asked for) marked on the map above. We were camping at the Springhill Farm Campsite and started from there.
