West Bay to Charmouth

Start from West Bay (What3Words: ///officials.bunkers.commander), where there is pay and display parking and plenty of cafes to top-up the caffeine before setting out.

Follow the coast path to Charmouth (about 14km).  The route is very hilly and takes you up Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast.  There are a number to points where the path dips down to a small settlement where you can gain refreshments, finish the walk or treat it as a position to turn back from.

At Charmouth the SW Coast Path heads inland to avoid landslips between there and Lyme Regis.  If the tide is low, a nicer route is along the beach, hopping for rock to rock.  Plenty of fossils can be found along the way.

Check the tide times so that you do not get cut off as the water comes in.  If in doubt, finish the walk at Charmouth.

At the Lyme Regis end of the beach, climb the steps onto the sea wall.  A little way along, climb more steps up the cliff into the car park.
