Le Crotoy

This is a "there and back" walk from the view point car park on the D940 east of Crotoy.  It follows the Promenade Afred Manessier along the barrage to the Le Crotoy harbour and into the beautiful seaside town on the banks of the River Somme Estuary.

French language explanation boards explain the history and views. Much of the estuary has silted up over the past decades and the barrage is an attempt to increase the amount of water sluicing through and moving some of the silt on.

There are amazing views across the water at all points and restaurants to eat and sit along the sea front.
