Martin's Haven - St Brides Loop

Walked 26th May 2022

This 14km (8.9 mile) walk takes in the north coast path to St Brides, back in through Marloes, with its clock tower and pub, across to the nature reserve and cafe at Marloes Mere, past the Old Deer Park and Martin's Haven. There are amazing views of islands and the bay across to St Davids and ample opportunities for wildlife.

There are three possible car parks to start from for this walk. The car park at St Brides makes a good starting point with views over the haven, the little church and plenty of opportunity to shorten the walk to a loop to Marloes and back via the cliffs.

The other two are National Trust car parks at Marloes Sands and Martin's Haven. These two allow for a shortened loop round the peninsula. We started at the West Hook Farm Campsite.

Two refreshment options (apart from picnic) are available at Runways End Kiln Cafe and The Lobster Pot pub.

Follow the coast path to St Brides Haven.

Take care in high winds as this stretch is quite exposed. There's also a fair amount of going up and down.

Oil and gas ships often anchor in the bay whilst waiting for their orders for the next destination.
