2020 Keyhaven OS Map.pdfThis 3 mile walk starts from Keyhaven where there is limited paid parking on the sea wall, limited to 3 hours and a larger paid car park with toilets. The path is dog friendly as well as giving great view to the old salt pans with a superb variety of water birds and many sightings of rare ones during the year. Plenty of bird watchers with lenses, most happy to explain what they are looking at.
In addition to all this, there are amazing views out across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.
Start from the sea wall and follow the footpath along the coast towards Lymington. If you have plenty of time, you can walk all the way to the town, take refreshments and loop back. Our walk goes as far as the pipeline into the sea and loops back inland, turning left to follow the path back to the start.
There are interpretation boards along the way explaining what birds could be seen and the history of salt pans that once produced sea salt for export around the world.
