Lower Sizergh Barn Farm

This 3km walk begins at the car park of the Lower Sizergh Barn Farm Shop and Café, skirts their campsite and takes in the National Trust Wood and River Kent river bank.
1.
From the shop car park, follow the signs to the Growing Well Project. Rather than turning right to follow the vehicle route, continue straight, past the polly-tunnels on the right and towards the woods.
2.
Take the path along the left edge of the wood until the foot entrance on the right into the wood.
Follow the gravel path through the wood and then through the Caravan and Motorhome site.

By the entrance you encounter the ruins of an old gunpowder factory.
Take the the road out of the site along the side of the River Kent.

You pass a little suspension foot bridge over the river on your left. You can cross here to extend your walk on the other side of the river.
Otherwise, continue along the road until a turning on your right. Talk this quiet road and continue until the next right hand turn.
5.
Take this road back to the Farm Shop.
