Walked 4th June 2022
This 7km (4mile) walk starts from the entrance to the Exe Valley Caravan Park in Bridgetown (Grid ref: SS 923 332). It takes you along the river Exe and then up over farm land back to the road. From here you can either repeat the route back to the start or continue looping back through Exton and ending at the The Badger's Holt Pub in Bridgetown (opened at 6pm at the time of walking).
1.
From the campsite/caravan park, turn right up the road and take the lane on the right, signposted as a bridle path. Follow the path parallel to the river until you reach the next road. Turn right here.
2.
Just before the junction, turn left up the driveway to some houses and follow the lower footpath to the left. Some of the fields on this stretch may contain livestock/sheep.

7.
At the concrete road, the official path is left, through the gate and then immediately right (not on the concrete track). However, the concrete track was less overgrown and had great views up the valley. It also appeared to be a permissive path.
8.
Do not follow this track, it is not the footpath. The right of way follows the fence line to the left of this track.
9.
10.
11.
When you re-join the road, you can either retrace the first part of the walk back to the campsite or turn left and then right onto the main road. A little way along the main road is a footpath off to the left, up the hill to Exton.
12.
13.
At Exton, cross the road. There are two paths here, the one you want is to the right, through the farm yard, round to the left of a silage clamp and into the field the other side. The signage disappears for a bit here.
14.
15.
In the woods, follow the signs as the footpath doesn't quite follow the route larked on the OS map. It joins a Bridle Way for a short distance before turning right as a footpath again, downhill to Bridgetown and the Badger's Holt pub.
16. Either turn left for the pub or right to return to campsite.
17.
Turn left to return to the campsite.
