This 9km walk follows a short distance along the Dordogne before crossing it using an old railway viaduct (now a cycle and footpath). It then climbs through cool woodland before looping back down through Barthers and back over the river past the water gardens.
Either start from the Camping Rocher du la Cave or the public parking next door (https://w3w.co/imposing.frequencies.photons ).

Follow the track through the park towards the Jardin d'Eau. At the sign explaining about "Les Pecheries", take the fork to the right and follow the Grand Route markers (red and white tripes on posts and trees).

Continue to the river, paddle and admire the viaduct. Then retrace your steps and take the steps up onto the viaduct.

Follow the GR markers.

Cross the river and continue until the path meets a road.

Take a sharp right turn and take the road towards what looks like a manor house.

Turn left and take the path back over the previous cycle track.

Follow the track trough the woods.

At the road, turn left and follow the red and yellow stripped way markers.

At the larger road, cross and take the tiny way marked path down the hill, through more woods.

At the end of this stretch of GR path, turn left onto the road by the farm and continue back to the viaduct.

On the other side of the river, either retrace the route back to the start or continue on the path to the village and follow the signs to the Jardin d'Eau. Continue on the lane past the garden and the Villa Romaine until you reach the park you started from.

This 4.47km walk takes you from the camping in Carsac, past the church, into town/village and back.

From the Camping Rocher de Cave or the park next door, follow the path along the edge of the river north, through the campsite and past the next site until you reach the track to the right. Take this until you reach the road.

Turn left and cross the main road. The church is well worth a visit.

Cross the road and walk through the park towards the Aire de Camping Car.
In the corner is the spring serving the old washing area.

Head through the town and join the voie verte to take you back to the start.
