8/29/12 -- Ways to Reduce Stress
When you have a second child, it's not like the workload "doubles," it seems to quadruple?! After my son Noah was born (at least I think it was Noah?), I wrote down the following list that I've kept on my jewelry box all these years (Noah will be 13 in a couple months):
Eat right.
Exercise regularly.
Try not to worry.
Take a nap.
Take a vacation.
Relax your face.
Take more baths.
Leave your work at school.
Plan for quiet time.
Plan ahead.
It *feels* like we've been in school longer than we have. I think that happens when you do so much in a little bit of time! Take some time this holiday weekend to relax. Take deep breaths, schedule a little quiet time. Remind yourself you've got to take care of yourself so you have the energy and strength to take care of others!
Happy Labor Day Weekend! Be well.

About eight years ago, Cheryl Fralick, current principal @ MGES, shared a “happy thought” that I wanted to pass along to you all TODAY!
See the picture attached. This daylily was blooming in my yard this morning, and I took a picture with my iPad to share. If you’ll look closely, on the leaves you’ll see the remains of a bloom from earlier this week or we could say “the past.” You also might notice it’ll be blooming again “in the future.” What’s the BEST part of this picture? TODAY. The beautiful, colorful bloom represents TODAY. Thank you, thank you for TODAY. We learn from our past. We look forward to what’s next and plan and collaborate for the fun to come. But TODAY, my daughter Hannah says, is a gift—that’s why they call it the “present.”
I wore my chicken hat because I hope you all come “BOK! BOK!” tomorrow! “Corny” runs in the family, huh?!
Live in the moment and celebrate TODAY!
Wellness Wishes for Thursday,
D
