Hunter and His Amazing Remote Control -- 10/18/19
This curriculum is written by Dr. Lori Copeland. We briefly met and shared the concept of a remote. If you're watching the YouTube channel, you can use the remote to switch to another channel, like Disney Channel or Nick, Jr. The idea is to pretend and work a remote control for yourself and for the choices you make each day. If you're thinking about recess when it's time to think about a math lesson, you have to "change your channel."
We also explored the "pause" button on our remote controls. You stop and take a deep breath to check in with yourself to make a BEST decision next. We practiced ways to take a deep breath:

Next week we'll meet to discuss the "Fast Forward" button. Each week will have a game or exercise to practice the concept. Then we'll color that button on our "remote control." These are made of foam with the paper buttons hot glued on the front. Our sessions are 10-15ish minutes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for sharing your child with me!
