Good Egg / Bad Egg
Draw 2 "eggs" on the SmartBoard and put a smiley over one (telling) and frownie over the other (tattling). Have children crack open the eggs and tape in appropriate space.
Inside the eggs:
Arnold cut in line in front of Billy.--tattling
Bobby didn't wait his turn to play a game and told the teacher his friends didn't let him play.--tattling
Benny saw Penny wreck her bike and hurt her leg.--telling

Explain how to make the red key for "Honesty" and explain how to describe this trait on the back. Read Ruthie's Teeny Tiny Lie. Use your 2nd Grade words to explain "honesty," i.e. "tell the truth."
Count out children, 2-8. and have them hold the number on their fingers.
Divided up into groups. The group reads their key info in the book and then creates a key for the class key chain.
Give students time to work.
