Goal Setting for 2nd Grade

Read the Tortoise and the Hare

Discuss setting a goal is like climbing a ladder. Use graphic organizer.

When goal setting:

(1) Take deep breaths to know what your goal should be

(2) Focus, concentrate and stick with the process

(3) Use your whole brain and body to accomplish the goal

Set a goal to complete centers:

juggling -- whole brain

breathing -- downstairs brain

GRIT -- stick with it

singing bowl & lava lamp -- strengthening "tuning in" and concentration skills

yoga postures -- whole body

(1) Work Quietly

(2) Work Together

(3) Use Time Wisely

What are your goals?

If time, remind about the goal of Red Ribbon Week:
