Noordhoek NW Ridge
Location: Silvermine, NW ridge of Nordhoek Peak
Overview: A long bush wack and short scramble to the top of Noordhoek Peak
Route Description:
Can be approached either from Chapmans Peak (adds 300m vertical) of from Silvermine (recommended).
Proceed up the Nordhoek path and then turn off down to Chapmans Peak. About half way down (500m contour), turn off across country on an ascending rights traverse through broken ground to the base of the main Nordhoek cliff face. Not easy to find. Look for cairns or use the OSM MAp.
Zig-zag up for about 30m to a long, exposed traverse which ends in an open book. Climb this 10m grade 5 pitch. It is exposed so a rope is advised.
Continue scrambling on easy ground to the summit. Numerous return options. Take your pick.
