• Indicated in hepatorenal syndrome, refractory ascites, Child class B or C, or MELD score of 26 or higher.

• Contrainrications include HIV, extrahepatic malignancy, continued substance abuse, uncohtrolled sepsis, and end stage cardiac or pulmonary disease.
